i had fun, did you.

it was really nice, meeting (almost) all of them again. no matter how much i used to complain and whine about my days in merdian, i really miss the a201 people. the people who have made the days in meridian memorable.

i didn't know that samuel the slacker, is now fighting fires. and howard, fighting the baddies. well adam will always be adam! hahaha. we've all grown in different ways, yet still the same old people.

a very fruitful night indeed. dinner @ changi v, bapok lookout, a police raid at geylang, a naked woman whom only a particular someone saw, some accident in hougang.

most importantly, it was the laughs and the smiles.

it just seems like yesterday, doesn't it.

sigh.

i saw her today. and she looked so glum. the box lying on the study table and the wrapping paper in the wastepaper bin. it says: "You're special" i think i don't have to know the full story to understand her disappointment.

"You're special."

and i think she wants you to understand that.

she told me it wasn't the disappointment that he went to buy without her. but that he promised. and she expected him to keep the promise even though it's such a small favor. she had many plans for that big surprise. and she got her mum to help. it was really gonna be a surprise. finally getting something he really wanted and without him knowing. he promised. yes he did. but he didn't keep it. the surprise is redundant now. and she's too tired to be even disappointed.

i realised, all she ever wanted was to be happy. to have someone shower her with all the love he can ever afford to give, and to bask forever in that moment. i think sometimes she fears that it would end, and that's why we see the tears in her eyes. it wasn't because she was sad. she was only afraid. afraid that the joy that she was feeling at that moment would one day be gone.

she told me that she was confused. confused about what she was feeling. she said that she was hurt. she didn't mean to make him choose. he thinks that she wasn't being understanding enough. she thinks that he does not understand her enough. she told me when he closed the door behind her, she wasn't sure whether she's going to return.

i look at her, and i wonder if she is happy.
